Intern Garment Quality Control Merchandiser

Your working hours will be Monday to
Thursday 9am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 3pm, 3/4 hour for lunch.
Project Brief
Eternity Clothing is looking for interns
to carry out varied duties as listed below according to their ability,
we are not expecting all candidates to be able to carry out all the
duties but will move candidates towards their natural ability but at the
same time we are looking for candidates who have a self development
orientation, who have the ability to continuously improve and learn new
skills, and increase their personal capability. With management
teaching, instruction, ongoing training and mentoring from the company
staff the candidate will be able to handle garment quality control.
You will have your own goals and tasks set out with your mentor. These
are examples of tasks you might do in this internship:
1. We are looking for a candidate to update and review the company
Quality manual and system and procedures, that is the, ISO 9001
certification within the company
2. You will be verifying garment sizes are as per specification,
carrying out tolerance checks and adapting size specs and garment
patterns, whenever necessary.
3. You will be carrying out inspections of manufactured goods, assessing
the quality of goods and reporting accordingly.
4. You will be verifying garment sizes are as per specification,
carrying out tolerance checks and adapting size specs and garment
patterns, whenever necessary.
5. You will be responsible for tendering new orders to offshore
suppliers, collating the information and updating the factory listing.
6. Archiving and recording samples in the sample room
7. Carrying out Q.C audits and reports at our U.K. warehouse
8. You will be communicating directly with factory and suppliers in
other counties
9. You will be verifying garment size patterns, checking factory
procedures, checking fabrics and components against UK order forms,
ensuring comments from UK are communicated to factories
10. You will be trouble shooting and problem solving garment quality
issues and working to tight deadlines under pressure
11. Checking & Assessing final pre-production garments are acceptable
and approving the same for bulk production
12. Educating factories to ensure they understand our quality
requirement, and you will be setting up quality control procedures with
suppliers example appraisal sheets, fit secessions.

Person Specification, Required Skills & Experience
• Excellent orgainisation skills are
essential
• Currently studying or have completed at degree or diploma level in a
relevant textile field
• Ability to measure garments using a measuring tape to an accurate size
specification relaying any quality faults or pattern adaptations back to
the supplier (not essential but this will help)
• Ability to manage and understand size specifications from development,
to sampling and through to production (not essential but this will help)
• Good knowledge of corel draw, MS Outlook , Office Word 2003, Excel
etc.
• A self motivated hand on proactive approach when dealing with clients;
have persistence
• Ability to prioritize your workload, and following the company culture
of going beyond what’s expected/the brief.
• Ability to work under pressure in order to meet deadlines
• Capable of working indivudually and as part of a team
• Capable of multi-tasking and dealing with more than one role at a
time.
