Project Brief
Eternity Clothing is looking at new ways to constantly improve their
business with freight companies. This internship will deal with all
steps in the shipment process on a national and international level
which puts you in the unique position to get involved in every step of
this process. You will look for ways to generate an effective ongoing
communication / negotiation / control strategy and look for new ways to
find companies who can deliver quicker and at lower costs.
You will have your own goals and tasks set out with your mentor. These
are examples of tasks you might do in this internship:
1. Look for strategy to let the shipment process go as smoothly as
possible. It is of vital importance the shipments go as smooth as
possible due to the fact that we have committed delivery times with our
customers.
2. You will send out emails, make telephone calls to chase the goods and
make sure everything is going according to schedule.
3. Get familiar and work with the Letter of Credit (LC). You will
negotiate about LC terms, finalize these terms on the LC (e.g. If there
is a delay we have a right to demand a certain amount of money every day
(like a fine) to compromise for the delay, so you will negotiate what
amount we can agree on).
4. Look for ways to get around late shipments.
5. Negotiate and agree on international rates, what are the benefits for
us?
6. You will deal with national and international payments.
7. Other tasks related to your projects.
8. Other tasks related to Eternity Clothing.
We are not expecting you to be able to carry out all the duties but will
move candidates towards their natural ability but at the same time we
are looking for candidates who have a self development orientation, who
have the ability to continuously improve and learn new skills, and
increase their personal capability. With management teaching,
instruction, ongoing training and mentoring from the company we will
maximize your experience with the company
